I just got a new lens today--a Pentax SMCP-FA 50mm f/1.4 Lens. The important thing about this lens is its ability to open the aperture much wider than my other lenses, making it great for low-light and portraits. When the aperture is open wide, the field of view gets narrow, meaning the subject is in focus, but the background is blurry. I had to take it for a test drive so I went back to JC Raulston Arboretum with my friend--who was a great sport about being my test model ;-) Here's how they turned out!
